Residents are encouraged to be as active and independent as they are able. Our care team supports residents as needed with activities of daily living (bathing, dressing, toileting, and eating), and leads residents through programs designed to keep them mentally and physically healthy. COVID-19 UPDATE: Bristol House is designed, both physically and socially, to reduce the risk of communicable diseases and foster good health. The building is new, featuring new HVAC (ventilation) systems and private suites. Activities are structured to minimize large groups of residents while still allowing for healthy exercise and interaction. The benefits of working at Bristol House attract dedicated employees, with lower turnover, meaning a decreased likelihood of bringing the virus into the building.
Residents receive personal space for dignity with support for their well-being.
Each room at Bristol House Memory Care is a private suite with a private bathroom.
Daily routine Families of residents along with the administrator and staff create a care plan to best engage and support the resident based on their needs. Residents are afforded the space to decide how they would like to spend their day. Assistance is provided where needed with personal grooming and bathing. Residents are encouraged to be social and participate in activities.
Meals and snacks Residents are provided with three daily, nutritious meals. The chef works with the administrator to ensure that each resident’s dietary requirements and restrictions are met.
Activities and programs All activities at Bristol House are designed to engage the residents and provide social, physical, and cognitive stimulation. Daily activities include games, trivia, puzzles, chair yoga, chair beachball, and much more. Activities are a fun way for residents to interact while working towards care plan goals of movement, range of motion, socialization, and mental exercises, to maintain wellness.
Therapies On a regular basis residents have the option to participate in activity therapies like gardening, pet, and music therapies. These therapies provide enjoyment and comfort to our seniors.
Facility design and layout Each neighborhood is thoughtfully decorated and furnished with safe items for residents who may become disoriented. Each neighborhood is a loop that allows residents to explore their secured neighborhood circle. Common areas are decorated to highlight activity areas and de-emphasize exits to deter exit seeking.
